Program Description & HIGHLIGHTS

Keyboarding course introduces students to computer keyboarding  through touch typing. Students learns the basics of  keyboarding though individual lessons, customized practice lessons, and games. Beginners learn the correct fingering for each letter and learn to type and gain a speed of 35-40 words per minute. Intermediate and advanced focuses on speed and accuracy. Intermediate students are expected to gain a speed of 50 wpm. Advanced users can aim for 70- 80 wpm.

Upon completion of this program the successful student will have reliably demonstrated the ability to:

  • Learn touch typing through computer keyboard
  • Gain accuracy
  • Gain speed
  • Do speed test

21 hours of classroom instruction plus exercises and project.

  • Mavis Beacon typing program

  • Microsoft Word program for custom typing

Must obtain a keyboarding speed of 35-40 wpm with a minimum of two mistakes
